Opened as a debate cinema in 1977 and run by Amber film & photography collective,
its programme is largely focused on independent and world cinema, often linked

Lumen is a Leeds based not-for-profit arts organisation with a national and international
reputation for producing challenging, high quality arts programmes. Lumen's activities
include the operation of an AV equipment hire resource, technical consultancy
and the development of an artistic programme which generates learning and educational
resources. Central to Lumen's artistic programme is the production of Evolution
for the Leeds International Film Festival which each year brings together international
artists, film-makers and curators for a programme of screenings, lectures, live

Leeds Film organises a broad and diverse programme of cultural film at venues
across the city. In addition to the year-round Leeds Film Quarter and education programmes, it delivers the annual Leeds International Film Festival (November) and Leeds Young People's Film Festival (Easter). Recently they established

Hull Film is dedicated to the exhibition and creation of short film as a crucial
art form in its own right. Since 2001, Hull Film has been responsible for the
Hull International Short Film Festival, which acts as a showcase of short film.
Hull Film has been active in programming a multitude of screenings, lectures,
master classes and educational events in the city in collaboration with various
venues. Hull Film is also committed to promoting new work and developing critical
discussion as well as developing the Hull Film Study Collection in association
with the University of Lincoln.
