About the MoreisMore network

The MoreisMore Network is a web based system for distributing independent media for sale at local outlets and events. Members can also input contact information about their local area; book shops, meetings, gatherings and share this with everybody to help build the distribution network further.

Our dream

The network has been born out of Mute's long standing experiences of distributing a magazine internationally and seeing conventional channels just not working. The MoreisMore Network provides a way for people with local knowledge to be rewarded for getting media to audiences and for supporting independent media producers by contributing to a sustainable economy.

The system works by agents signing up to sell media locally to outlets, at event or to friends and colleagues, in return the agent receives a percentage of the media sales price. Depending on the the agents ranking and the media producers terms, the agents can buy media on a sales and return basis, either on a credit account or via PayPal transactions. If an agent returns media unsold, they will be refunded.

In addition outlets can order directly if they choose using a special Outlet Account, with its own associated discounts.

If you are an independent media producer and would like to make your content available on the network then please come and join us, currently we accept; video, magazines, books, software or other campaign or promotional literature. We accept media physical and digital download formats. Producers will of course be paid when items are sold and well provide producers with monthly reports and payments.

The MoreisMore network also accepts FREE goods for distribution, like campaign literature.

How the economy works: the sale price of media is divided between the producer, the agent, the outlet and the MoreisMore network. These percentages are negotiable between the producer and agent/outlet. A suggested division of a media product would be;
: The producer 55 to 65%; Distribution agent 25%; Outlet 30%; Agent Network 5%

The More=More network is a wholesale network and is not for individual consumers to buy single copies of media.

If you are a producer and you already have a distribution contract covering specific regions you can select that your media is only distributed in specific regions or outlet types.

At present postage fees should be paid by the producer when media is sent out and by the agent when media is not sold and returned to the producer. This arrangement can be renegotiated. Sooner rather than later the MoreisMore network will be introducing Community Couriering to the system, reducing the cost of transporting media.

The MoreisMore network is part of an ongoing FLOSS software development project by the OpenMute team where the following features will be added; multi currency and multilingual systems, community couriering and an international screening database.
